What Talent Gallery does

Who uses it#

• Workplace Experience (WPE) teams — the internal Shaper staff who place learners into workplace projects.
• Absorption partners — outside organisations who take on Shaper graduates, browsing the directory to find candidates that match an open role.

Search filters#

The directory filters candidates on three axes:

• Role — e.g. Junior Full-Stack Developer.
• Location — e.g. Johannesburg.
• Skills — a long, specific list rather than a generic tag cloud, including: Python, JavaScript, Java, SQL, NoSQL, HTML, CSS, Angular, Git & GitHub, PostgreSQL, TypeScript, Spring Boot, GitLab, Figma, Lucidchart, React, Bootstrap, ExpressJS, Flask, Django, FastAPI, NGINX, REST APIs, Power BI, Agile/Scrum, AWS, MySQL, Docker, Qmetry, and Microsoft Excel, among others.

That specificity is the strongest signal on the live site: this isn't a placeholder search box, it's a filter set built around the actual curriculum of Shaper's learnership programmes.

Candidate status#

Candidates on the live site carry one of several status labels as they move through the pipeline, including Available for WPE, Available for Hire, In WPE, Employed, and Reserved — letting a WPE team or absorption partner see at a glance who's ready to be placed versus already working.

Who's behind it#

The live site lists Lombard, THESL, Sanlam, Absa, and MTN as partner organisations in its footer.
